Dissecting microbiome-induced plant phenotypes

Since microbial effects on plants are influenced by interactions within the microbiome, there is likely an untapped potential of plant health-promoting microbial traits that cannot be identified using conventional methods. We aim to discover novel plant-beneficial traits, which only emerge within a microbial community context. We will identify emergent microbial traits by deconstructing complex synthetic plant microbiomes in microcosms.
